THERE was last-gasp heartache for Sphinx as North West Counties League visitors Hanley grabbed victory deep in injury time to bring this nine-goal thriller to a close.
And the Potteries side did it with 10 men after Callum Boyle was sent off midway through the second half. The Midland Football League hosts came from behind to lead 2-1 at the break.
Mackenzie Faulkner slotted in Hanley’s 11th minute opener but this was cancelled out from the penalty spot by Sphinx skipper Callum Woodward on 25 minutes.
