SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30 BRADFORD TOWN 4 BRIDGWATER TOWN 3
I ARRIVE in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, on a late sunny morning after leaving an East Midlands cloaked in thick fog and ice.
The town is bedecked in lovely Christmas lights.
Apart from the clothes of the shoppers, this could be a quintessential scene from a Dickens adaptation! The ground – Trowbridge Road – is on the edge of town. The g ateman greets each spectator warmly and points out where the facilities are.
After paying £6 and another £1 for the programme, I head for the clubhouse. Bradford’s players...
