CONSETT reached the last 16 for only the second time after an enthralling tie against Lutterworth.
The game was delayed for an hour due to high winds in County Durham.
It was the Leicestershire visitors who started well – Jake Orrell’s 20-yard shot deflected before Consett took the lead on 37 minutes.
Former FA vase finalist Luke Carr found the bottom corner from with a fine strike.
The Steelmen doubled their lead on the hour after Hayes had denied Clark with a smart reflex save.
