LIAM Flanagan’s double helped Selby see off the challenge of Glasshoughton Welfare in the FA Vase to give interim manager Ryan Cooper a winning start.
Cooper took the helm following the departure of Christian Fox, and Flanagan eased the transition with a dominant display.
The striker showed his predatory instincts from close range after Welfare keeper Alfie Hayes-Daubney fumbled Charlie Clamp’s 15th-minute cross.
Jody Barford saved brilliantly from Jonas Ndombasi to preserve the lead which Flanagan doubled from the spot five minutes after the break.
