COVENTRY Sphinx celebrated the life of a much-loved volunteer Dick McKinnon with a five-star display to move into the last 16 of the FA Vase.
Club stalwart McKinnon, who passed away yesterday, was remembered in a minute’s silence before kick-off and his team produced a performance of which he would have been proud to keep their Wembley dreams alive.
The victory charge began midway through the first half when Callum Stewart got his head to the ball to set up Jordan Hayward for a simple finish.
