HALESOWENeased their relegation fears after a slender victory over already relegated Skelmersdale. But the visitors battled bravely and were only denied a share of the points by a fine penalty save from home goalkeeper Dan Platt.
The first-half was instantly forgettable with visiting goalkeeper Chris Cheetham easily dealing with long-range efforts from Lee Chilton and Nathan Walker.
