Bob “the Cat” Bevan MBE continues his stroll down the top amateur memory lanes as the Northern and Isthmian enjoy an untroubled decade after the Great War
At least the top amateur leagues enjoyed a stable period. Only six new clubs appeared in the Northern League during the decade and one of them, Harrogate, left after just one season and Eden Colliery Welfare after just two. Of the others, Trimdon Grange Colliery came and went but managed 180 games.
