Bob ‘the Cat’ Bevan MBE reviews a decade in which the amateur game was dominated by one club from the Northern League
No team ever dominated a period in the amateur game as Bishop Auckland did in the Fifties. From 1950 they won the Northern League six times in seven years. They also reached the FA Amateur Cup Final six times in the same period, winning it on three occasions. In 1954- 55 they even reached the fourth round of the FA Cup.
