HARTLEPOOL United were denied a memorable victory over neighbours Sunderland after Benji Kimpioka’s injurytime equaliser salvaged parity for the Black Cats.
Matthew Bates’ Pools started the brighter and grabbed a deserved opener midway through the first half.
