HIT-MAN Luke Armstrong struck his first Heed hat-trick to sink former club Blyth Spartans on his return to Croft Park.
The on-loan Middlesbrough striker –who is the son of Blyth boss Alun – claimed the match ball with a brave 87th-minute header. Gateshead stretched their unbeaten run against local rivals Blyth to ten games to end their pre-season campaign unbeaten as they prepare for a trip down south to face Maidenhead United in next week’s National League opener.
