DOUBLE UP: Wealdstone celebrate winning the FA Trophy in 1985
THE Alliance League led an almost total domination of the FA Trophy during the 1980s as the division cemented its self as Non-League’s highest tier. In 1985, Wealdstone became the first club to complete what was dubbed “the Non-League Double” when they raced to the League title, before lifting the FA Trophy at Wembley following a 2-1 win over Boston United.
