STAMFORD gave it a good go but were overwhelmed by a strong Peterborough United side.
After a fairly even opening 20 minutes, Posh were awarded a penalty. Jonson Clarke-Harris smashed it home.
Stamford soon equalised. Good work from Rob Morgan found Connor Bartle and his cross was inch-perfect for Jack Duffy to sidefoot into the corner.
Lee Shaw had a good run, showing quick feet, but his shot was well 89th minute winner.
