GAINSBOROUGH Trinity were edged out by a Sheffield United XI in an entertaining game at the Kal Group Stadium.
Trinity started brightly, creating opportunities down the left. Ashley Jackson dragged wide after good play involving Lewis Butroid, Fraser Preston and Joe Stacey.
Declan Howe then got involved, linking with Stacey. Howe got on the end of the winger’s centre only to see his header clawed away by Henry Molyneux.
The Blades saw plenty of the ball, but it was Gainsborough who were fashioning the better chances.
