FORMER SPIREITES BOSS IS CLEARED

NOT GUILTY: James Rowe

JAMES ROWE, the former Chesterfield manager, has been found not guilty of sexual assault.
The 41-year-old, who was managing the Spireites when the allegation was made in 2021, was cleared by majority verdict after a trial lasting seven days at Derby Crown Court.
Rowe, who had pleaded not guilty to the charge, was initially suspended in January 2022 by Chesterfield, just over a fortnight after they had played Premier League Chelsea in the FA Cup third round. He officially left the club by mutual consent in early February 2022.
