GILLINGHAM Town are to quit the Toolstation Western Premier at the end of the season – and voluntarily relegate themselves back to county league football.
The club were faced with a choice of either spending money to compete at Step 5 or completing their new ground.
It had been intended that work on their new home, next to their current Hardings Lane headquarters, would be finished by the summer, but this will not now be the case.
