Openly gay Liam makes history
THERE was an instant midway through the first half where Wembley held its breath. We probably didn’t recognise it at the time, but it was a bigger moment for the game as a whole than anyone may have noticed.
Cleethorpes’ Liam Davis, the first openly gay male to ever play at Wembley Stadium, had just ploughed into South Shields’ Jon Shaw.
