Relegation still haunts Jon
HE KNOWS it didn’t make up for anything. He knows as well that it was far too little, far too late.
But the sheer fact that Jon Parkin’s powerfully broad shoulders were still carrying the weight of disappointment even in the aftermath of his club’s greatest moment for years was a measure of the man.
“It’s great obviously to win at a place like this, but at the end of the day you can’t escape the fact that all these brilliant fans we had at Wembley have had two years of hurt,” said the striker.
