A FAMOUS Non-League name returned home after a decade in exile yesterday – while another’s homecoming anniversary was almost spoilt by a Premier League pull out.
Scarborough were welcomed back by over 2,000 supporters but their first game in the town since 2007 ended in a 4-1 defeat to Sheffield United. The Seadogs will take inspiration from Maidstone United, whose crowds have swelled since ending their exile in 2012, although the Stones’ anniversary match against Crystal Palace turned into a damp squib.
