WE KNOW that the Premier League is a unique competition and law unto itself. And I hope it remains that way when it comes to the closure of the transfer window before the start of the season.
The Football League is apparently thinking of following suit but what of the knock-on effect for the Non-League game? I doubt in changed circumstances whether Maidenhead United and Basingtoke Town would have received welcome cash boosts from the sales of Dave Tarpey and Aaron Jarvis to Barnet and Luton respectively, for example.
