WISBECH Town stopper Paul Bastock could not keep a clean sheet in his side’s FA Vase 4-1 home win over Thetford Town – but he still set a world record in the process.
The 47-year-old keeper, who began his career as a teenager with Coventry City, has now beaten England legend Peter Shilton’s appearances record of 1,249.
Bastock equalled Shilton’s record on Wednesday night when the Fenmen beat Sleaford Town in the United Counties Premier Division.
