THE ref got it wrong – and Lymington Town have been docked three Sydenhams Wessex Premier points as a result.
Zak Pickett was shown the red card in Lymington’s 3-2 defeat at Sholing on September 30, but the match official submitted a wrong date in his paperwork sent to the Hampshire FA.
The county FA website accordingly stated that Pickett’s suspension for the sending off would begin on October 8.
Lymington officials took a screenshot of the website and went ahead and played Pickett in their 2-1 win over Blackfield & Langley the day before. Not only that...
