I AGREE with Gary Charlton’s letter (Fans’ Forum, January 28) about the FA’s refusal to integrate the Northern League more into the pyramid as southern bias.
That said, the Ebac Northern League Step 4 is a non-starter.
Most of the area he mentioned lacks football clubs or any inhabited areas per se. A more realistic proposal would be a north-east and Yorkshire Step 4 league run by the NPL.
It’s the lack of Step 5 leagues in the north and midlands which creates the southern bias.
