THE resignation of Shaw Lane from the Northern Premier seems to have caused some anxiety because of the possible upheaval to other clubs of redistributions to fill the gap.
It need not. Why not leave matters as they are? Play the Northern Premier with one less team.
It won’t be the first time that this has happened and is little different then in effect from a team resigning part way through the season.
