A LAST-GASP winner from Eli Phipps put Weston-super-Mare within 90 minutes of the first round proper but Coggeshall Town can be proud of their efforts despite defeat.
Coggeshall had the better of the chances for much of the game and the Seagulls had Luke Purnell – who made a string of excellent saves – to thank for keeping the scores level.
The game swung in the visitors’ favour when Tristan Plummer saw red after a shocking two-footed lunge two minutes into the second half.
But they failed to capitalise, and Weston profited...
