Flags at EP require a certificate

IN ANSWER to Glynn Bradshaw’s comment about Alfreton Town fans not being allowed to display their flags in the recent game at Stockport County (Fans’ Forum, September 30) the reason is simple.
It is because Edgeley Park has a Ground Safety Certificate that it must adhere to, meaning all flags must have a Fire Safety Certificate, in order to be displayed in the stadium.
The County flag, and the 50-yard banner in the Cheadle End have the required Certicate. Other clubs’ fans who come to EP, show their Certificate, then display their flags – no problem.
