CHRISTIAN Appleford has been appointed as the new manager of struggling Hadleigh United with the brief of preserving their Eastern Counties Premier Division status. Appleford, who quit as Bury
Town’s assistant manager in December after four years, and who previously managed Mildenhall Town, fills the void left by former player Shane Wardley.
Wardley, as a player who won the championship with Hadleigh, was appointed 15 months ago and last season avoided relegation only because Hadleigh were reprieved despite finishing 21st.
