BASFORD United returned from their trip to Workington with all three points and stretched their winning run to four in all competitions.
They were grateful to keeper Saul Deeney, who produced a string of fine saves to frustrate the Cumbrian side.
Shaun Harrad gave Basford a 14th-minute lead with his first goal for the club, converting a penalty after James Reid had been brought down.
Otherwise, it was the home side in the ascendancy, Deeney tipping Bard Carroll’s shot over and diving to deny both Garry Thompson and Conor Tinnion.
