IN A dress rehearsal for the Velocity Trophy Final, AFC Hornchurch came out on top.
Enfield started the stronger, with Ryan Blackman and Sam Youngs trying their luck but on both occasions, Callum Chafer made comfortable saves.
The deadlock was broken on 29 minutes as Alex Bentley’s long throw was flicked on by Sean Marks to Charlie Stimson. His first-time pass put Ronnie Winn in and he rounded Matt Nolan to score.
Hornchurch almost added a second when Dan Rumens cleared Winn’s corner off the line.
