How’s Scholes not conflicting interest?

SORRY, but am I missing something here? How on earth can Paul Scholes taking over as manager of Oldham Athletic not be a conflict of interest against the 10 per cent stake he owns in Salford City?
I understand Scholes has been forced to stand down as a director of the Ammies but the fact he still owns a share of the club that could easily be playing in the same league as his team next season is surely a massive conflict of interest!
