SUCCESS and failure can be relative terms in the fast-changing, chaotic world of football. Notts County supporters returned from Old Trafford on the opening day of the 1991/92 season disappointed they lost 2-0 to Manchester United in the old First Division. Save for a run of four consecutive defeats in March, Neil Warnock’s Magpies would have proudly taken their place when the Premier Division was launched the following season.
