CARL MAGNAY says Spennymoor Town was the perfect match for him to fulfil his desire to play part-time football.
The 30-year-old defender penned an open letter to Hartlepool United fans last week confirming he is to leave the club to pursue a career in coaching.
Magnay secured his first professional contract with Premier League Chelsea in 2007 but, after a series of long term injuries, moved back to his native north-east to join Gateshead in 2012.
