SPORTING Khalsa captain Tesfa Robinson settled a tight battle at Boldmere.
Khalsa won 1-0 when stalwart Robinson nodded home a 26th-minute free-kick. The Mikes had enough chances to warrant a draw but could not find the net.
Fancied newcomers Newark Flowserve held firm in an action-packed 4-3 victory over Worcester City.
They took the lead 10 minutes before half-time through Elliot King’s flicked finish.
