JOROME SLEW’S hat-trick proved decisive as Maldon & Tiptree held their nerve to overcome Wingate & Finchley in a thriller. Slew opened the scoring within five minutes, dancing through the defence and rolling the hosts ahead in clinical fashion.
Wingate equalised five minutes before the break when Ahmet Rifat volleyed home from ten yards following a dreadful flap at a corner from goalkeeper Ben McNamara.
