MATT JOHNSON’S late, late winner gave Hornchurch the points from a keenly-contested Essex derby.
Bowers and Pitsea started well and had the better of the opening exchanges as Max Cornhill headed just wide after five minutes.
A goalbound Lewis Manor drive was then deflected over the bar by Urchin Mickey Parcell.
Chances were at a premium but the visitors almost broke the deadlock when Brad Warner cut inside from the right and curled an effort towards the far post which Urchins keeper Joe Wright saved well.
