MARATHON: Taunton’s twitter feed plotting the incredible shootout
TAUNTON TOWN and Truro City etched their names in the history books after equalling the record for the longest penalty shootout in English football.
The BetVictor Southern Premier League South rivals needed 34 spot-kicks to separate them on Tuesday night after drawing 2-2 in their Challenge Cup second round clash.
And that equalled the record set in an EFL Trophy match between Chelsea U23’s and Oxford United in 2016.
Taunton eventually won the shootout 12-11 when Jack Rice netted their 17th penalty...
