INTRIGUED by Matt Badcock’s article in last Sunday’s NLP, my son and I paid our first ever visit to Saffron Walden Town yesterday, and discovered that it more than lived up to its billing.
A personal welcome from the Bloods’ chairman – who sought us out in the bar – and ‘hellos’ from the rest of the staff truly set the tone for the day by providing that extra special touch.
Throw in a ground packed with character, a game marked by goalmouth drama at both ends and an emotional 96th minute winner for the home side, and we enjoyed a perfect afternoon.
