Melton Town digging in deep over pitch issues

The playing surface at the club’s ground, Melton Sports Village, has long been a source of frustration among players and supporters alike, with no fewer than 11 games being postponed during the 2019-20 season due to the pitch being deemed as unsatisfactory.

AS MUCH of the Non-League world prepares to make its long awaited return from Covid-imposed exile, a quite extraordinary saga has been brewing in the Leicestershire countryside.
Last month, Melton Town were toasting promotion to Step 5, their highest ever position in the pyramid.
