■ CITY OF LIVERPOOL progressed after a professional performance saw them overcome Emley.
After a cagey opening, Purps captain Nathan Burke lit up the tie with a stunning 35- yard strike into the top corner which left Emley goalkeeper Sam Kelly with no chance.
Burke tested Kelly again from range on the stroke of half-time with a fizzing 30-yard grass-cutter which the keeper parried.
He was then alert to gather the loose ball at the second attempt before James Kirby could profit.
