FORMER Blackburn Rovers striker and Chorley boss Matt Jansen has stepped down as manager of Stockport Town to return to neighbours Stockport County and form part of the coaching set-up.
Town responded by appointing captain Paul Turnbull – the former Stockport and Macclesfield midfielder – as joint manager alongside former Burnley Academy coach Mike Jeffries.
Turnbull will continue to play for the first team, while Jeffries will continue with his duties working in the Stockport County Academy as lead professional development phase coach.
