BIRTHDAY boy Ben Greenhalgh led Margate to a narrow victory over lowly but now safe Bowers at Hartsdown Park.
Margate made the perfect start on three minutes. James Bessey-Saldanha took advantage of a mistake by Tobias Braney, intercepting his poor pass before crossing to Benas Vaivada who fired past Bowers keeper Mitchell Beeney.
Bowers 18th-minute equaliser also came from a mistake, when Ben Swift’s loose pass was intercepted by Mitchell Gilbey.
