NUNEATON Borough were looking to prove a point against Alvechurch after a 4-0 defeat at Lye Meadow saw them knocked out of the FA Cup, and that need for revenge showed as they hit the post three times within the opening eight minutes.
The home side’s Charlie Dowd then had a number of chances to break the deadlock against his former club, the first coming after 15 minutes when he beat several defenders before shooting past the post.
