RUNCORN LINNETS progress to the second round proper of the FA Trophy with a win over Belper Town.
It was an end-to-end affair at the APEC Taxis Stadium, but Ryan Brooke’s second-half winner means Runcorn’s journey continues, as they reach the second round proper for the first time in their history.
However, they made a disastrous start when, on nine minutes, a poor clearance from Linnets goalie Danny Taberner fell straight to attacking midfielder Jacob Gratton who fired the ball into an empty net from long range.
