■ MYSTERY surrounds the incident which caused the abandonment of Whitchurch Alport’s clash with Tividale.
Alport led 3-0 at the interval but tweeted that the match had been abandoned at 4.22pm, stating that there would be “more news to follow”.
Shortly after, Tivi’s Twitter feed cryptically reported that “we will update when all the facts are in”. Reece Francis, a goalkeeper for Premier Division rivals Highgate United, who was playing for his own club yesterday, replied with: “Unreal stance from you guys.”
