Dragons steal a march on Magpies
Wrexham took full advantage of a rare slip-up as Notts County blinked first in the red-hot race for the National League title.
A crowd of over 10,000 saw the Red Dragons continue their relentless charge with a 3-1 win over Dorking Wanderers, thanks to goals from Elliot Lee, Paul Mullin and Sam Dalby.
And the celebrations ramped up later on when Dagenham & Redbridge – just hours after parting company with manager Daryl McMahon – completed a fine 2-1 victory at Notts’ Meadow Lane.
The twist in the tale means that Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham are now just two points behind County with two games in hand.
At the same time, the gap to third place was increased to 19 points after Woking were held to a 1-1 draw by Wealdstone, while Chesterfield‘s winless run extended to eight matches after they were beaten 1-0 by Oldham Athletic.
Southend United, ahead of their High Court date this week, beat Torquay United 2-1.
