TITLE-CHASING Aveley had to settle for a point at home against Carshalton after being denied by a combination of keeper Danny Bracken and the woodwork.
It was mostly one-way traffic at Parkside with Aveley on the front foot trying to win the game despite the visitors needing a win to keep in touch with the play-off places.
George Sykes came close in the first half but he saw his effort smack the outside of the righthand post.
Central defenders Harry Gibbs and Ryan Scott both had chances but saw their headers go wide of the goal.
