PONTEFRACT Collieries claimed their first points of the campaign – but it was shrouded in controversy.
Adam Priestley scored the winner in the 39th minute when bursting clear and slotting home. The assistant’s flag was raised but after the ball hit the net, the officials had a long consultation and the goal was awarded.
Town were much improved after the interval without being able to find the elusive leveller.
