EVEN the blazing heat couldn’t slow down Hornchurch in north London as they overcame Wingate & Finchley by a comfortable margin.
Steve Morison’s men were stronger and quicker took their chances. The same could not be said of Wingate who, while they were often able to get themselves into threatening positions, couldn’t make the crucial connection to keep the game in reach.
And so 4-1 was how it finished, thanks to goals from Sam Higgins, Ryan Scott, Ade Yusuff and Sean Scannell.
