MARINE 1
MARINE enjoyed a repeat of their FA Cup giantkilling against a Halifax team 31 years ago.
The sides met at Rossett Park in 1992, when Marine knocked out then Football League side Halifax Town 4-1 and yesterday needed just one goal to reach the first round.
It was former Shaymen midfielder Louis White’s first-half goal that helped Marine send his old team out.
The Shaymen went 1-0 down in the eighth minute after Andrew Oluwabori was dispossessed in his own half from a throw-in. This allowed Louis White to slot past the keeper.
