MIDLAND LEAGUE

■ HIGHGATE UNITED climbed to within three points of the top of the table after beating league leaders Congleton Town 3-1. They had to do it the hard way after Ryan Chadwick gave the visitors a sixth minute lead. Arron Brown had Highgate back on level terms by the interval before second half goals from James Wilcock and Connor Mooney secured all three points.
Only two other games survived the weather in the Premier Division. Lichfield City were 3-0 winners at home to Romulus, with goals from Dan Lomas in the first half and Luke Childs and Jack Edwards in the second.
