■ FIVE of the 10 fixtures survived the bad weather, and third and fourthplaced Tilbury and Romford took to the chance to close the gap on idle Woodford Town and West Essex. Tilbury are now second thanks to a single-goal victory over Buckhurst Hill, Harry Donovan netting after nine minutes.
Romford, whose game at all-weather Mayesbrook Park was never in doubt, were too good for Ilford, beating the Foxes 2–1. Charlie Morris opened the scoring after 34 minutes and Oliseh Okuguni stretched the advantage midway through the second half. Junior Luke pulled one back too late.
